Norwegian artist Sophie Rodin presents at Victoria Square Project three art books - sketches, collage, text - she designed after various meetings she had with migrants and refugees over the years. The books are part of a project in progress titled "At home in the world". The same name Athens show aims at broadening the artist's experiences while encountering old and new Athenians. "In Athens I hope to keep up the conversation, with both locals and migrants, to enrich the project with new approaches, views and experiences", Rodin says. She holds a MA in Fine Art, from the National Academy of the Arts in Oslo and a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) from Østfold University Collage. A fee free weekend workshop "My book, My story // Workshop with Sophie Rodin" gives Athenians the chance to get a closer look at the work of both artist and educator Rodin. Robin is Artist In Residence at the international Artist Residency program One Artist A Week/FaveLAB. The Athens based self funded artist initiative operates in Athens for the third year in a row. The synergy between One Artist A Week/FaveLAB and VICTORIA SQUARE PROJECT (VSP) aims at setting a creative paradigm for cooperation between non institutional agents, as well as for the production of art shows of low cost and broad social effect.
